With an udderly intriguing name and backstory, you can't help but be charmed by Bertha's Revenge, produced by the Ballyvolane House spirit makers of Ireland. Named after the legendary Droimeann cow from Sneem in Co. Kerry, Bertha is said to have been the oldest cow in the world when she died aged 48 in 1993. The gin uses whey alcohol from the local dairy farmers, natural well water and an interesting mix of foraged and sustainably sourced botanicals, including juniper, coriander, bitter orange, grapefruit, sweet orange, lemon, lime, liquorice, orris, angelica, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, cumin, almond, elderflower, and sweet woodruff. Bertha's Revenge is a hand-crafted a gin that highlights the character of Bertha in her prime.
